The Crayon

Grandma isn't always getting the stories of what the Taz is doing. After church yesterday we stopped by to see our babies. The Taz greeted us as we walked in the door wearing nothing but a pretty blue t shirt. She stood at the long hallway grinned and took off running for the kitchen.

We followed and found the kids sitting at the kitchen table eating the rest of their breakfast. Then it began. "Gma she's been so bad this morning."

I looked at that pretty little face with her strawberry blond hair hanging in her eyes. She looked back to the picture she had started coloring and preceeded to fill in the leaves on the flower stems. For a two and a half little girl she was staying pretty much within the lines of the leaves with the green crayon. How could such a darling little girl be so bad?

There was much talking all at once with brother telling us they had a sleep over, hugging first gmpa then gma all the while chattering. Even baby sister joined in with her jabbering. Next thing I know Taz stood up for all the world to see her shinning bottom. I gave it a small love tap and told her to go get her big girl panties on. She gave me a stern look and yelled "Papa"!

Papa put his apple struedle down and came over to see what she wanted. "What is it darlin'".
She looked at me then back at gmpa. "Mema joijkkdjkwmm jekjgig meensoo lwhenr." All the while pointing her finger or rather her crayon back and forth from me to him.

Gmpa started to laugh, first because he couldn't figure out what she was saying past the Mema point, then because she looked so funny standing in the chair, hair hanging in her eyes, only wearing her blue t shirt, and pointing her green crayon back and forth between him and gma. Before he could say anything the green crayon made a swipe down the front of his white shirt. She turned her back on both of us and began coloring again.

It happened so quickly that I turned my head and started laughing. By this time mommy made her way back into the kitchen. "Mom she's been so bad this morning I can't begin to tell you what all she's done. First off she threw one of the dogs off her bed. And I mean threw him off. I don't know what I'm going to do with her."

"Dear it's one day at a time. One day at a time."

The Taz

Another day with the Taz. I stopped by her house and when I opened the door she came running with outstretched arms "Mema's here, Mema's here."

Music to my ears but as soon as I picked her up and gave her a kiss she shimmied back down to play with her playmates. This is the last day for one little girl that's been her constant sidekick since she was born. Mommy takes care of her best girlfriend's daughter but next week she starts preschool at a day care. I forsee some hard times for both girls, you see they are only six months apart.

It's probably a good thing the Taz has a little sister she can boss around. Little sister is a year and a half younger that her. Right now she mothers, or rather smothers, her. Oh for the day for little sister to say I've had enough and pushes back.

Growing up begins!

The Taz

The Taz has been quiet for awhile, except for a few minor excapades. But the most recent one was a doosey!

Mommy has been working very hard in their new house to get each girl's bedrooms painted, curtains, and new beds. The Taz has a beautiful pink and blue room with a princess bed, which she loves to sleep in.

Little sister's room has strips of hot pink, lite pink, tan, and a dark brown. These are wide strips and look perfect. It was quite an undertaking, first paint, second keeping everyone out of the room while the paint cans sat on the floor. Most of the time the lids were off the cans, but Mommy closed the door and no one seemed to bother. That is......until the day Mommy had finished the strips and was going in to do little touch ups to make it perfect!

Mommy waited until Daddy got home, they ate dinner, Mommy cleaned the kitchen up and preceeded to go upstairs to finish her job. Both girls were sitting with Daddy watching television. Well as much television as two little girls can watch anyway.

It was late and little sister was getting tired so Mommy decided it was her bed time. She put her brush down, turned out the light, and closed the door. You guessed it, she didn't put the lid on the can!

Mommy went down stairs and got little sister ready for bed. When she came out of the bedroom the Taz was no where in sight. Mommy headed up the stairs and met the Taz coming down. "What have you been into?" Mommy exclaimed.

Taz met her with a look of sheer denial and raised hands. "What?"

"You know what I'm talking about. What have you been doing?"

Raising her hands in the air again. "What?"

Mommy grabbed her by the hand and led her back upstairs. She opened the door on the bedroom and before her lay the open can of brown paint, a dip stick, and brown paint flung across the wall and floor. She looked down at Taz and realized she also had the brown paint all over her new pair of pajamas.

Needless to say...........the Taz was changed and put to bed in her new princess bed with a frazled Mommy sitting downstairs crying.................hystericaly! It took Mommy two days to calm down. Now we're waiting for the encore...................................................and there will be one we are sure of it!
